Tundra too chilling

I am writing to comment on the “Tundra” comic strip that appears every Sunday in the paper. More often than not, the comic is very graphic. These pictures are sometimes very disturbing.

Today’s strip (Feb. 27) depicted a pack of dogs filling themselves from a downed caribou. The prey had ribs and other bones sticking out, along with who knows what that was hanging out of the dogs’ mouths and strewn on the ground.

These comics usually have some sort of “funny” punch line to go along with the gruesome drawing. However, it is not funny at all. See, most people read the paper while eating breakfast or drinking coffee, and it is not at all pleasant to come upon a picture that graphic while your mouth is full.

Is it really necessary to put something like this into a section of the paper that kids usually read, or even at all? Please avoid those unpleasantly detailed comic strips in the future.
