Needy children lack a voice

According to the program “60 Minutes,” 25 percent of children in the U.S. will be living below the poverty line soon. One in four children go hungry every day.

It sickens me that the great United States of America can fly planeloads of food and supplies to Libyan refugees while our own children go hungry.

Do you know why the powers that be never talk about homelessness and hunger in America?

It is because most homeless people don’t vote.

The apathy of the American people on this subject is equally appalling.

We need to take care of our children before we feed the world.
