WSU to host Long Beach State on Wednesday
COUGARS • UPDATE: 9:45 P.M.
As we guessed this morning, Washington State will meet Long Beach State on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Pullman. The game will be televised on ESPNU. The 49ers are coached by former Gonzaga head coach Dan Monson and won the Big West regular season title, finishing 14-2 in conference and 22-11 overall.
The Cougars earned a two seed in Boston College’s (the Eagles are one of the top four seeds) bracket, which means they may have to travel to Boston if they want to get to New York. Oklahoma State is the three seed in WSU’s bracket and will host Harvard (Oklahoma State, the Harvard of Stillwater) on Tuesday. If WSU wins against the seventh-seeded 49ers, the Cougars should host the Cowboys sometime over the weekend.
UPDATE: We have a look at WSU’s reaction to playing in the NIT and its opponent, Long Beach State.
