Olson coordinating Shock offense

Spokane receiver Andy Olson gets a good shove into the boards from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s Chris Royal. (Jesse Tinsley / The Spokesman-Review)

I was at Shock practice this morning and I put together a Shock notebook that will run in Wednesday’s S-R. The first item is on Andy Olson, the former Shock receiver (pictured above from the 2009 season) who is now Spokane’s offensive coordinator.

Here’s a link .

A couple of notes to pass along that won’t make tomorrow’s paper. Greg Orton’s 203 receiving yards against Iowa was a Shock single-game record, breaking Antwone Savage’s 195 yards in 2007. Orton also was battling a flu bug that has made its rounds on the team.

Finally, Spokane released Vinnie Olson, an offensive lineman who didn’t appear in any of the Shock’s first three games.
