“Geronimo EKIA.” That’s the code phrase that let top U.S. officials know Osama Bin Laden was killed Sunday at a compound in Abbotabad, Pakistan. The code name “Geronimo” was assigned to bin Laden because of his elusiveness. (Chief Geronimo, like bin Laden,
evaded capture for years
.) But some are taking offense at the code name, saying it does a great injustice to Chief Geronimo and the Apache tribe/Seattle’s Big Blog.
