Rosdahl, 6 Other NIC Staffers Retire

A total of seven North Idaho College employees with 120 years of combined service were honored recently for their service at the 2011 NIC Retirees Reception Thursday. Pictured are Journalism Instructor Nils Rosdahl, 25 years; Custodian Jimmy Michaels, 37 years; Food Services Cook Valerie Wolfe, 12 years; Dual Credit Coordinator Steve Casey, four years; Computer Applications and Office Technology Instructor Marilyn Wudarcki, 13 years; and NIC President Priscilla Bell. Not pictured are Former Professional-Technical Counselor and Adjunct Instructor Don Bjorn, 18 years, and Spanish Instructor Gini Hickman, 11 years.

Christie Wood: All of them are so deserving of a new chapter in their lives, and a happy retirement. Still it is sad to lose that kind of experience, intelligence, and long term commitment to the students at North Idaho College. Administrators and Trustees must continue to focus on recruitment and retention of quality instructors to ensure our educators working today also make this kind of long term commitment to NIC students. The same can be said for K12 teachers. They are well worth the investment.

Question: Tell us about a college professor or instructor who made a difference in your life?
