Kris Crocker Explains Double Rainbow
KXLY viewer Jean Corbit saw this beautiful double rainbow earlier this week just outside of Rathdrum. KXLY chief meterologist Kris Crocker offers this explanation for the phenomenon: “The first rainbow is called the “primary” rainbow. The “secondary” rainbow is created when two reflections are coming from the same raindrop. The secondary rainbow is always fainter than the first and the colors are reversed.”
