Bloomsday’s on a great run

Amen to Bert Caldwell’s excellent article (May 1) on Don Kardong’s enduring commitment to Bloomsday. You’re exactly right that serving such a huge group of returning “customers” on a thin budget is a wonderful business model.

Beyond the financial efficiency of this great fitness and social event is the even greater service that Bloomsday delivers to all of Spokane, including those who only stand and watch! It’s an example to all ventures here and throughout the nation that business success and community service go hand in hand.
