Washington hunting, fishing license fees increase Sept. 1
HUNTING/FISHING — Gov. Chris Gregoire signed legislation on Thursday boosting Washington’s hunting and fishing license fees by an average of 16 percent, but not across the board.
Youth fees will go up 2 percent while disabled person/veteran documents will drop 4 percent.
Gregoire’s signature on
Senate Bill 5385
authorizes the fees effective Sept. 1.
- A resident freshwater fishing license will increase from $26 to $29.50.
- A combo freshwater-saltwater-shellfish license will jump from $48.20 to $54.25.
- Big Game License (deer, elk, bear and cougar): now $81.20, goes to $95.
- Small Game License (with big game license): now $21.20, goes to $24.
- State Migratory Bird Permit: now $12.50, goes to $17.
The increases are estimated to produce $16.1 million in new revenue for the Department of Fish and Wildlife in 2011-13.
