Vote facts over passions
Never in my lifetime have I seen such a build-up of resentment and passions against governing agencies affect so many levels of government. No need to point out the national unrest from both sides of the hot topics, but increasingly the local contests are also being ignited by inflammatory comments being hurled at candidates on one or two specific issues, ignoring truth along the way. What happened to looking at the whole picture of what a candidate offers? What happened to going with the facts and the best qualified?
The contention among those in Idaho’s East Side Highway District regarding the recently imposed LIDs has brought forth a record number of candidates for two commissioner positions. Passions run high, and truth is often being pushed aside for empty promises from underqualified candidates. Voters hopefully will utilize intelligence to see the difference.
