Garden plots for sale, work party soon

The footprint for the Grant Park Community Garden has been cut out of the sod, just west of Grant Elementary School (Pia Hallenberg)

This Saturday, volunteers got together and cut sod for the Grant Park Community Garden. This garden is a pilot project with the Spokane Parks and Recreation Department - it’s one of two community gardens built in parks and on park property.
About one-third of the planned plots in Grant Community Garden have sold already. The easiest way to get a plot is to stop by the South Perry Farmers Market on Thursday between 3-7 p.m.
The next work party is on Saturday May 21 begining at 9 a.m. On the agenda is construction of garden beds and a few other projects.
The easiest way to keep track of the garden’s progress and needs is to follow it on Facebook here .
