Pig’s plight shameful

Imagine being a large farm animal stuffed into the back area of a small vehicle and watching/feeling your world flash by. You escape and try to find quiet safety. People yell and scream, taser, etc., furthering your terror.

Where do you go? Where do you hide?

Imagine the animal’s terror. An animal more intelligent than dogs.

It might take more time, but there are many people familiar with animals that could assist in situations like this. Calm, quiet, deliberate movements to get the animal out of harm’s way – give it some time to calm down, to live.

But shooting’s so much quicker, and then we can all guffaw about it with such a catchy headline as “Ham on the lam dies with a bam” (May 14). What abysmal behavior.
