Electricity bills unaffordable

Though we understand the concept of a rate hike increase, there are also some flaws in the way Avista is doing this. With these rate hikes, people are going to start having to choose between paying their rent, buying groceries and paying for gas vs. electric.

People on fixed incomes already have enough struggle paying their electric bill. Most people can’t afford what their idea of a comfort level is, such as $210 or even higher than that. Avista needs to realize that it is going to lose way more customers to power loss if people can’t afford their bills.
