J-MAC: Lake City Split On McEuen
Jimmy-MAC:
I should have shown up but didn’t because I have a newborn at home and work long hours to
feed my family. To think that because a majority of the folks at the meeting last night were in opposition reflects the overall %’s of the Kootenai County is either very naive or completely stupid. I think the overall sentiment is pretty split myself, but c’mon, give me a break, it’s well known and documented that an opposition standpoint is much more likely to show up at these things and be vocal than that of the proponents.
DFO: I simply have no idea re: who’s in the majority on this issue. Unquestionably, dozens if not hundreds responded to the last-stand call by Friends of McEuen and Mary Souza. Do they reflect the majority? Do most people in this community care if the American Legion diamond is moved, for example? I doubt it. Mebbe a majority supports the boat launch. A public vote would be just as muddled, especially with individuals intentionally spreading misinformation. I could live with a scaled-down version of the McEuen Field plan. But I’d expect that the final version will be hailed as much as the library, Kroc Center, and Centennial Trail.
