Fisherman: LCDC & McEuen Upgrade

Old Fisherman: Having watched and read about this for some time, and understanding the Council recently approved “no property tax” will be used. please explain how LCDC can fund anything on the park proposal, as they deal strictly with property taxes? Am I missing something?

DFO: Old Fisherman brings up an excellent point re: urban renewal. How do you view urban renewal money — as direct or indirect property taxes. In URA districts, taxes were frozen years ago (mebbe 1997, for one of the Coeur d’Alene districts). LCDC is funded by revenue from increased revenue from new development prompted partly by urban renewal money. The thinking is that a whole bunch of new revenue will land in the laps of local government when LCDC and Post Falls URA districts sunset.

Question: Do you consider urban renewal money to have direct or indirect impact on property taxes?
