“It’s the least we can do,” said Fran King, 86, Emmett, as she meticulously finds the gravestones and places a U.S. Flag near those who served in the military and are now buried at Emmett Cemetery. She started the tradition after visiting the cemetery in 2000 and noticed many veteran gravestones were not decorated for Memorial Day. She has since organized fundraisers to buy flags and enlisted a small army of volunteers who help each year. (AP Photo/Idaho Statesman, Darin Oswald)
