What’s Condon’s water plan?

The city has averted dealing with raising water rates for years; now the City Council has no choice but to take action to set aside reserves to fund necessary upgrades to the infrastructure of 100-year-old pipes.

It’s a lousy time to be raising rates on citizens, but pipes running underground have no idea what our economic status is and they’ll burst when their time has come.

Mayor Mary Verner stated she will return to the City Council, and will seek their assistance in revising the rates. As far as the plan of the mayor’s opponent, I have no idea other than having heard him blast her for “raising the rates.”

It was the City Council, not the mayor, who decided upon the rates currently set.

What exactly is David Condon’s plan to fund these upgrades? From where does he plan to find funding for this critical work? Does he know he will also need to work with the City Council?

I have yet to hear any plan from Mr. Condon. He has failed to convince me he is capable of making significant plans for our city; certainly he hasn’t convinced me he would be an asset to the residents here.
