JohnA: 8% Speaks For All Of CdA
JohnA:
Consider this. The population of CDA is 44,137 according to the latest census. Both Dan Gookin and
Steve Adams garnered around 3,400 votes each. That’s about 8 percent of city residents. Isn’t it amazing that 8 percent have spoken for the other 92 percent? And, they call it democracy? I don’t mean this to lessen the achievement of either candidate but isn’t is surprising how few votes it takes, as a percentage of the total population, to win a seat on the Council? It is rather sad, actually.
Question: Does the low voter turnout throughout Kootenai County in the local elections provide more evidence that mail-in balloting is needed in Idaho?
