Stop energy tax credits

Your editorial of Nov. 8 critical of Rep. Raul Labrador’s possible energy bill, which would curb energy tax credits, is a large insult to the American taxpaying public

Who is being fleeced by such credits? The bankruptcy of solar panel and taxpayer-subsidized company Solyndra was barely covered as a story. Your paper has not even covered the case of the federal government’s borrowing money from China to give to a company manufacturing electric cars in Finland (Fisker). That company has delivered one car in America, an electric sports car to Leonardo De Caprio. Al Gore is a financial backer of Fisker, and I resent giving him my tax money.

It is puzzling to me that your newspaper would support any subsidy/credit programs so deeply involved in fraud and rewarding companies based on their political stances. I am sorry, but ever since the Democrats gave us the Community Investment Act and required Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to carry bad subsidized loans, I have been nervous about these subsidized programs.
