City government too big

Today, city government has grown too big. When times were good we had the money, but today we don’t. What’s needed is a prioritizing of city-provided services using zero-based budgeting to create more efficiency. That may send chills down some spines, but I’d say it’s time.

As I see it, Spokane must grow the revenue base by giving business a good reason to come here and expand the workforce. This is needed now and all over the United States. In my view, new leadership must take action soon, or later they may not have much choice.
