Sunday night from WSU

COUGARS • UPDATED: 8:15 P.M.

We have talked with Paul Wulff and got his perspective on Saturday’s win over Arizona State. For that, read on.

• Most of what Wulff had to say is covered in my story for tomorrow’s S-R, which is now available. It covers Connor Halliday’s performance, looks at the aggressiveness shown by the offensive line, injuries and special team problems, especially those on the kickoff-coverage team. Other than those subjects, Wulff talked a bit about Alex Hoffman-Ellis’ play, praising his ability to make plays in space, using his speed to counter the Sun Devils’ speed, and how important a role the crowd played in the Cougars success. Wulff says he knows the fans want wins and they can help in that regard with their voices, something he said they did on Saturday. … John Blanchette has a column about Halliday. … Wulff also does an interview with the WSU athletic communications department on Sunday, which we have at the end of this post. … The basketball team gets the 2011-12 season underway tomorrow night in Spokane – we’ll be there and keep you updated – against Gonzaga. Our Jim Meehan, who covers the Zags, has this advance .

• That’s it for this Sunday evening. We’ll be back tomorrow morning, with our usual post. Until then …
