Hunting The Perfect North Idaho Tree

It’s about time to start thinking about holiday decor if you’re a household that likes to seasonally decorate. Regional forest service agencies are opening the outdoors for Christmas tree hunting. Some will make the trek into the wilderness for the perfect tree. Some gave up years ago and take up the task of dragging the fake tree from the basement. To each their own. A few neighbors shared their Christmas tree traditions — heading into the wilderness a la Griswold familia. They recall the cold and wet weather, as well as the fathers wielding chain saws. Matthew Gardner, Coeur d’Alene resident, remembers his parents bickering of what tree was best. The Gardner family had a big decision to make.
