Values in the wrong place

I feel that the people of our state and the nation have their values in the wrong place when they cut funding for education of our youth; for special needs children; and for health care for the needy. In the end, we will end up paying twice as much when they all need to be on other kinds of funding because they end up in jail without education, jobless and without insurance; and in mental hospitals because their cleft palates were not repaired when they were young and they end up with mental problems when they are older. I have a special needs grandnephew in another state. If the state did not have money set aside for special needs children, his family would not be able to care for him at home. I think politicians need to take their heads out of the sand and have a heart that feels for the young and those less able to care for themselves.
