Taxes and cuts needed
I am not a supporter of President Obama, but I agree with his plan for taxing the rich. Anyone whose annual salary is over $1 million should be taxed 35 percent (no deductions). This may encourage top executives to reduce their annual salary, using that money to hire more workers. Give corporations that employ workers with fair wages and benefits a tax break.
Save Social Security and Medicare; if you paid the full amount into these programs you earned the right to receive the benefits. Politicians have done a lousy job managing our Social Security, spending/giving the money away as they see fit. Politicians receive 100 percent for one term of service.
Save the armed forces retirees’ programs; they signed contracts with the U.S. government to receive those benefits promised them. They did not stay in the service for the pay, only for the benefits. Retirees receive 50 percent of their base pay for 20 years service.
Cut the following: Obama health care, Social Security, Medicare if you did not pay into it (including illegal aliens), politicians’ pay and benefits, programs not producing crops and unnecessary experiments.
