Priest Lake Player Critically Injured

A Priest River High football player is in a Spokane hospital recovering from an injury sustained in a 63-6 loss to Timberlake on Friday. Details are sketchy because Priest River High School isn’t releasing any information. Athletic director Brandi Johnson is referring all calls to the district office. A call has been placed to the Mike McGuire, West Bonner County School District superintendent. A call also has been made to Priest River coach Mike McMahon. Sources have said that the player is in critical condition, but it isn’t life threatening. A source also said it is not clear if the injury was football related. The injury has been described as Second Impact Syndrome. The player was airlifted to the hospital from the football field/ Greg Lee , SR SportsLink. More here.
