5 Reasons Why Kids Should Hunt
Hunter Moore’s name is spot on - at 12 years old the Hansen boy already is somewhat of a hunting fanatic.
His family’s kitchen table was recently covered in gear — his gear: Bright orange vests, an olive-colored hat, toilet paper — “because you HAVE to have it,” he said — extra bullets for his 30.30 Savage rifle and even bullseye stickers for target practice during the off season. Nothing in the pile puffs out Moore’s chest more than a memento he’s already scored — a tooth from the black bear he harvested in May. The spring bear, measuring 20 9/16 inches from the base of the nose to the back of the skull, will be featured in Boone and Crockett. Even without snagging a trophy animal, Moore has already learned a lot from the sport/
