DFO’s Critique Of Candidate Forum

1. Sayler, Bruning, & Gookin were best prepared, most knowledgeable, & came across very well.
2. Mitchell & Aujay were least knowledgeable. But I give Mitchell props for being humorous about it.
3. Edinger isn’t a great speaker. But he presented well last night. I’m glad to see veteran councilman with fire in his belly for this race. He’s putting his chips down on his stand for a public vote on McEuen Field. And that might be enough to win.
4. Adam Graves & Amber Copeland had decent knowledge of the issues, for outsiders. Adam probably played too much with his iPod while others were answering questions. Amber came across as self-assured, self-deprecating, and very hard not to like. She’d get a lot of votes if people met her.
5. Adams simply has no vision for the city other than be a no vote on the City Council. His claim that Education Corridor was $2M-$3M over budget already simply isn’t true. He also claimed Coeur d’Alene Press misquoted him re: the city having 100 staffers too many.
