Edit: Boise Protest Peaceful, Wacky

There are proper ways to express outrage — to exercise the right of civil engagement. On a rain-drenched Wednesday afternoon, nearly 300 people brought the “Occupy Wall Street” movement to Downtown Boise’s 8th Street (see photo inset, by Darin Oswald/Statesman). Its message is in the eye of the beholder. A timely protest against corporate influence in American politics? An unfocused group rant? It depends, ultimately, on perspective. But Wednesday’s Occupy Boise event — like many that have come before, and many sure to follow — upheld that best of American political traditions: the tradition of peaceful protest. For a stark contrast, consider the criminal investigation unfolding in Caldwell. The FBI has taken over the case of an early morning fire on Sept. 26 at Rocky Mountain Fireworks and Fur, calling it a possible case of domestic terrorism/ Idaho Statesman . More here.
