Hession listens to citizens

We hear so much negativity at election time. That is why I’d like to write of the positive experiences my neighbors and I had with Dennis Hession, who is running for City Council president.

We are just plain citizens who would never expect a mayor to listen to our voices. But that is just what happened following a letter written to Mayor Hession about the invasion of our turn-of-the century houses, which were being taken over by a landlord who added “boxes” onto the backs of the big family homes.

We had concerns about unsightliness, rentals by each person rather than by the house as a whole, more drunken partying, etc. However, over many months we met with Dennis Hession and John Pilcher, along with the Building Department and Code Enforcement and others.

It was a wonderful experience to know that our concerns were valid and were heard.

We found Dennis Hession to be a warm, caring gentleman with no hidden agendas and who commanded respect. He is approachable, intelligent and kind, as honest as the day is long. I’d trust him to hear citizens and accord them respect and dignity.

That is why I’m voting for Dennis Hession for City Council president.
