Shock bolster defensive line
The Spokane Shock beefed up their defensive line, announcing the addition of AFL veteran Anthony Hoke, 2010 Shockie Ayanga Okpokuwurk and ex-Virginia Tech Hokie Steven Friday.
Hoke had 15 sacks for AFL Cleveland the last two seasons. Between the 2010 and 2011 seasons, Hoke was with CFL B.C., but was released in April. Okpokuwurk had eight tackles and one sack in six games with the Shock last season. The Duke University product left after the regular season when the NFL lockout was lifted to re-join the New York Giants. He was released in late July. Friday was with NFL Houston in training camp and registered 1.5 sacks in a preseason game against the Jets.
Earlier this week, the Shock announced the addition of DL Jeremy Geathers, who played a key role in the 2010 ArenaBowl win over Tampa Bay.
