Support House jobs bills

President Obama has been encouraging people to write their member of Congress and ask them to pass his jobs plan. Well, I’d like to encourage my senators to take a look at the jobs bills the House of Representatives has passed.

Sen. Patty Murray and Sen. Maria Cantwell represent me, too, and I want them to get to work. And while they are at it, it would be nice to see them in Eastern Washington every once in a while. Rep. McMorris Rodgers held a town hall in Spokane in August and had numerous open, public meetings throughout her district. Why didn’t Murray and Cantwell do the same?

We’ve got serious problems facing our nation, and while I see and hear regularly from Cathy about the work the House is doing to promote jobs bills in Congress, the president and Senate are floundering. We’ve tried stimulus spending. We’ve tried raising taxes. It’s not working. What we need to do is reduce federal spending and borrowing and get this nation back on track.

I encourage the president and our senators to support the efforts of the Republican-led House and bring some common sense back to government.
