Torching their own homes
How many of the “don’t raise taxes on the rich” letter writers actually make more than $250,000 a year, or are the mythical Republican “job creators”? My guess is that many of them make $35,000 a year and buy lottery tickets. They just don’t want to pay more taxes in case they win the lottery. The right-wing media has brainwashed people into believing that they will one day be rich and then the government will take their money.
Many of The Spokesman-Review letter writers are collecting Social Security, Medicare, disability, military retirement and public and private pensions that hold investments in the market. Blowing up investor confidence in those market funds over tea party political nonsense won’t make you rich.
What “class” of people would set their house on fire while it is being shown to prospective buyers? They are people that will believe any political statement if it is repeated often enough. When Speaker John Boehner refers to “the American people,” he is talking about people that think rich and live poor.
If you make $120 or more per hour, that’s $250,000 per year. You really are rich and should write a “don’t raise taxes on the rich” letter.
