Bulb law problematic
Now that we all have the CFL bulbs from Avista, could someone start to track how many of them flicker and blow up, like mine did, when the 20 watt, rated for use in a 75 watt socket, was put into the same socket. The bulb was rated as “equivalent to 75 watts.” Since there was no problem with the 60 watt equivalent bulb, except it was still dimmer than the 60 watt incandescent, I don’t think the problem was with the socket. I have no problems with another brand of CFLs that I use, except they are dim. Not even 60 watt incandescent brightness.
Some bright star in some level of the government has arranged a “beta” project throughout the entire country to save energy with the bulbs. Given that these bulbs are made in China and China is demonstrating problems with quality control in everything, maybe the mandatory law should be rescinded until the energy saving bulbs are better made. Maybe even in the USA?
