Support our pets

Please support our precious pets: Measure 1 would provide a central animal protection facility utilizing currently available property. This new location would provide improved access to pet services and a safe, healthy place for homeless pets that works toward minimizing euthanasia and optimizing opportunities to reunite pets with their owners or “re-home” them with loving families.

The building retrofit would save an estimated 30 percent over the cost of new construction. SCRAPS works diligently with other local rescue services, and across the state and beyond, to provide life-saving outcomes to as many pets as possible. Volunteers give their time and resources to transport animals to other capable rescue facilities where they are cared for until they can find forever homes.

With a live release rate (adoption, owner returns, transfers, etc.) of 70.2 percent (SpokAnimal-57.9 percent), SCRAPS maximizes limited resources above and beyond, with dedicated staff and volunteers contributing thousands of hours toward the well-being of our needing animals.

Measure 1, costing owners of a $200,000 home approximately $1 per month, is solely for animal service improvement.

Animals come to our shelter desperately needing, not by poor choice. May our community unite. Make a good choice; support Measure 1.
