Padden a proven leader

Spokane Valley residents are lucky to have an opportunity to return a proven leader – Mike Padden – to Olympia. November’s off-year election won’t change much in Olympia, but both Washingtons (state and D.C.) desperately need an infusion of real leadership.

On the one hand, we need elected officials with consistent principles – so that we can we can replace the current spoils system with a government that does its job, but doesn’t try to do our job(s). On the other hand, principles will never be translated into practice unless our representatives have strong personal skills to bridge the partisan divide.

Mike Padden is the ideal combination. He has been conservative since before it was fashionable to be conservative. At the same time, thanks to his years in the Legislature and the credibility he earned while there, he can effect real change. Let’s hope he succeeds!
