Eastern hanging with Huskies heading into final period

Steve Bergum

Washington capitalized on another big Eastern mistake to score the first touchdown of the second half and leads 27-20 going into the third quarter.

The Huskies were forced to pun on their secons possession of the third period, but the kick bounced off the helmet of EWU’s Darriell Beaumonte and UW recovered on the Eagles’ 27.  They scored three plays later on a 6-yard pass from Keith Price to Kasen Williams, but Eastern answered with a 73-yard scoring drive that was capped by a 43-yard pass from Bo Levi Mitchell to Greg Herd.

UW scored its first touchdown of the game after Matt Johnson muffed a punt and set the Huskies up with a short first.

More later.
