Tax ‘fairness’ not the answer
What public school did you attend? Letter after letter is about increasing taxes on the rich and businesses. Go take a class on economics. What are being modified are tax rates.
The 16th Amendment was passed by Congress to pay for the Civil War. In the next 150 years, society and Congress made income tax rates into a fairness issue. Rich people should pay more taxes. Huh? When did we stop being equal?
Government spends your money all in the name of societal safety nets. We must take care of the down and out. The real problem is your guilt. Instead of you making an effort to help your fellow citizens, you want the government to do it.
The solution? Be self-sufficient. Stop taking money (aka any form of aid) from the government. Help your fellow citizens stop. Elect officials that lower government spending. Don’t complain about tax rates. Don’t let politicians and bureaucrats pacify your guilt. Party doesn’t matter, vote them out.
But, alas, when one in four is either receiving money or working for a government entity, there is very little chance they will encourage their elected officials to slow spending. I wish you’d stop complaining about tax fairness.
