Scouting is camp’s first priority

As a board member, past president of the Inland Northwest Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and the father of an Eagle Scout, I would like to put at ease concerns about the possible sale of Camp Easton.

Please understand that our board would never consider such a proposal that would not result in a better camp for the Scouts in our council. We have exceptional talent on our board of directors, with many Eagle Scouts, parents of Scouts, and current and former Scout leaders that represent all geographic areas of our council. The board includes accomplished business leaders who have expertise in real estate transactions and legal matters.

The board’s first interest is continually improving Scouting in our area. The decision to investigate the options with Camp Easton has been 100 percent supported by the board of directors.

Please be assured that any decision would only be made for the long-term betterment of Scouting for youth in the Inland Northwest.
