Today marks what would have been the 75th birthday of rock ‘n’ roll pioneer
Buddy Holly
. During his short time
in the spotlight, the Texas singer and songwriter had 10 hits on the Billboard 100 chart. At the height of his fame, Holly was killed in a plane crash on February 3, 1959. He was just 22 years old. His musical influence can still be felt today, and Holly was among the first group of inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986/
