Baxter’s been busy

If actions speak louder than words, then we in the 4th District have a state senator generating a sonic boom. Jeff Baxter has done more in his short period in Olympia than many state legislators do in a career.

For instance, Jeff heard about the Washington state DSHS policy of replacing lost EBT cards (food stamps) with no questions asked, sometimes 30 a month. He confronted the head of the DSHS, pushed for much needed reform by instituting individual EBT cards, denying their use in strip joints, casinos and liquor stores. In these times of economic hardship, we need people with solid solutions to abuses.

Jeff sponsored Senate Bill 5828, which allowed legal protection for companies who voluntarily give veterans preference in hiring. He’s refused state-paid benefits and is now accepting a 3 percent reduction in his salary to show his concern for runaway government spending. Jeff’s integrity, energy and concern for our state are needed in the 4th. Please vote to retain Sen. Jeff Baxter.
