Frankly, you missed a stand

As a hot dog lover originally from the East Coast, I read the Aug. 31 article, “Top Dogs,” with interest as I have eaten at most of these small businesses. The writer missed a small business that is one of the best hot dog stands, if not the best, around: Frank’s Franks.

His van is parked at University and Sprague in the parking lot behind the Zip Trip. He serves Sarbrett’s hot dogs with a variety of toppings, such as chili, cheese, mustard, spicy mustard, ketchup and sauerkraut, and good conversation for old and young! His low prices include tax so there is no looking for extra change. What you see is what it costs!

My 3-year-old granddaughter and I stop by there a few times a week when returning from Reading Time at the Spokane Valley Library for a great lunch from the “big hot dog man,” her name for him. There is also “little hot dog man,” the young man who stands in for him on occasion.
