Keep senior, youth centers

I have been a member of a senior center since 1989. At first, I only attended the ceramics class. In about 1999 our activity director introduced arthritic exercise, and my husband and I joined. It helped us. Since 1999 both my husband and I have been very active with the center. We both have won the cribbage tournament and croquet tournament. In 2004, my husband and I received the Volunteer of the Year and one year we received the Volunteer of the Month from R.S.V.P.

Closure of the senior and youth center would be a bad mistake. We are taxpayers and voters and the youth are future taxpayers and voters. The seniors and youth centers need their directors. At our age, we could not run a center without a lot of help. Maybe you could cut somewhere else and let us keep our directors. I know many are on a fixed income and they need the friendly contact with other people. So please consider other ways to keep our senior and youth centers opened.

We seniors and youths will be lost without our centers. Who will offer different tournaments, tour and trips and play days for us?
