Representative needs own voice

What does it mean when Cathy McMorris Rodgers is in every photo-op with John Boehner or Eric Cantor? Her wallpaper presence means she supports their policies. When she does speak, it is always using the exact verbiage of the current Republican talking points. Does she not have an original thought or a voice of her own?

Does she agree that the flood victims of Vermont only get federal funding if other key programs take a hit? Does she think Medicare and Social Security are in need of radical reductions and for-profit changes? Does she really think that multibillion-dollar profit corporations need continued tax-free status and federal subsidies to be “job creators,” even though they’ve had 10 years of tax loopholes to accomplish that?

Why did she support years of unfunded wars under Bush that ballooned the deficit? Why does she accept comprehensive government-funded health care for her family but denies it to the rest of us? So many questions to answer!

She smiles in the background and sends out fliers that tell us she represents us, but she aligns herself with the policies of the privileged. What about fighting for the common good of all the people?
