No Health Insurance For 1/5 In Idaho

Almost one in five Idahoans don’t have any kind of health insurance, according to new Census Bureau data for 2010. The census data shows 19.2 percent of the state was uninsured last year, taking a risk with their medical bills and health by choice or necessity. That’s about 18 percent higher than the national average. The year-to-year change between 2009 and 2010 was steeper than the national average, too. Idaho had a 27-percent jump in people without health coverage — meaning the state’s uninsured population grew about 1.4 times faster than the U.S. as a whole/ Audrey Dutton , Idaho Statesman.
