Theocracy is concerning

A recent letter stated that if Mideast countries convert to democracies, Bush should get credit, but if they fail, the blame should go to Obama. It’s difficult to understand how the author arrived at this ludicrous assertion.

Rebellions are typically fueled by youth. Not only because revolt seems to be part of young people’s psyche, but they realize they are fighting for their future. They are revolting against the prospect of continuing to live in a conservative, intransigent theocracy. Only one religion is tolerated where they live.

Needless to say the citizens of those countries have been oppressed for centuries by an austere lifestyle imposed by their religious government.

A large faction of the Republican Party has an overt religiosity that concerns me were they to take control of America. Freedom from religion is one the greatest aspects of being American.
