Argonaut: Time For Workers To Stand
Apparently class warfare is what happens when the working class fights back. Years of shrinking taxes for the richest Americans have not been class warfare. The fact that incomes for the top earners have increased for
decades, while middle-class incomes (adjusted for inflation) have stagnated is not class warfare. But when working Americans ask our richest citizens to carry their share of the burden, to give back some of what our society has given them, that is class warfare. Republican politicians pointed out that the top income earners pay 40 percent of America’s federal income tax. They don’t mention that income tax rates have consistently fallen for decades. They don’t mention that this represents the rich paying a much smaller percentage of their own incomes to taxes than the middle and lower classes/
