Commemoration lacked support

On Sunday night, Sept. 11, The George Nethercutt Foundation (and additional sponsors) presented a wonderful one-hour memorial to the lives lost on 9/11. All branches of the military were recognized along with first responders. In addition, those in attendance were entertained by The Eric Moe Brass Ensemble and the Spokane Community Gospel Mass Choir.

It was a very moving, nonpolitical remembrance of the events. The INB Theater was sparsely occupied. I’m not sure if the poor attendance was from a lack of publicity or just plain apathy. Such a shame that all the work, practice and time spent planning for this event was enjoyed by so few.

As the wife of a retired military serviceman, I was disappointed at the lack of support for this commemoration.
