City Clerk Rejects Recall Petitions

Huckleberries has received the letter sent by City Clerk Susan Weathers (pictured) to Frank Orzell, leader of the recall effort against Coeur d’Alene Mayor Sandi Bloem and Councilmen Deanna Goodlander, Woody McEvers and Mike Kennedy. Weathers has rejected the recall petition paperwork because it was lacking key elements, including the reason for the recall effort. The petitioners failed to write up to 200 words explaining the reason they are attempting to recall the mayor and the council members. Adds Weathers: “Also, just as a suggestion, I would recommend including the Council Seat # to which the Councilman was elected.  The seat numbers for which they ran and were elected are:  Mike Kennedy, Council Seat #2, Woody McEvers, Council Seat #4, and Deanna Goodlander, Council Seat #6.” Copy of clerk’s letter here.
