Coeur d’Alene has now officially stepped through the looking glass and is sipping tea at the Mad Hatter’s party. Up is down. Black is white. Progress is bad. We wished we were back in the 1960s and hydroplanes were zipping across the surface of Lake Coeur d’Alene. Gray concrete on the waterfront for parking is good. Increased green space on the waterfront is bad. All we need is the foul-tempered Queen of Hearts to screech, “Off with their heads!” Oh wait. Now for today’s Wild Card …
