Ed Corridor Phase 1B To Begin
Phase 1B of what’s known as the education corridor construction project on the north side of North Idaho College’s campus is set to begin Monday, April 9. Park Drive off of Northwest Boulevard will be closed
throughout the construction project and traffic will need to utilize the Hubbard or Mullan entry points to access North Idaho College, Lewis-Clark State College, the University of Idaho, the Fort Ground Grill, Kootenai Bridge Academy, Jeffries TV, and residences in the Fort Ground neighborhood. NIC parking on the site of the former Robin Hood Campground on the corner of River and Park will be closed. The ribbon was cut in November 2011 at the completion of Phase 1A, which included a new intersection, sidewalks, roads, and roundabouts on the former mill site property on the north side of NIC’s campus. Phase 1B, which includes the extension of River Avenue through to Northwest Boulevard and will include a new signal after the conclusion of the project, was bid to Interstate Concrete and Asphalt of Coeur d’Alene.
DFO: Just another fine, transformational project brought to you by Mayor Bloem and those three rascals on the City Council who are being recalled for trying to expand and upgrade McEuen Field.
